Psalm 121 Levavi oculos
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills; *
from where is my help to come?2 My help comes from the LORD, *
the maker of heaven and earth.
| This psalm seems to be referring to the "high places" in Israel that were used for cultic worship. The psalmist says these places are not places for true help. The only real salvation comes from the One True God. What are my personal "high places?" Where do I look for help instead of the LORD? My brain power is one such place. My place in society is another. My academic credentials is yet another. But I desire to see that none of these will do. I want Jesus alone! What are your high places? |
